Charosis for Passover, Fig, Pear and Red Onion
Ingredients:
3/4 cups dried figs and dried pears
1 medium red onion, chopped
1/3 cup roasted chopped almonds
1 T ghee or avocado oil
3/4 cup ginger liquor
1 T freshly chopped basil
fresh ground pepper to taste
Here’s How:
In a food processor, chop the dried fruit, then place in a saucepan with liquor and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Saute chopped onion in ghee until lightly caramelized.
Place the above ingredients in the food processor and slightly pulse.
Add chopped basil, chopped nuts and fresh ground pepper to taste.
