Charosis for Passover, Fig, Pear and Red Onion

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cups dried figs and dried pears

  • 1 medium red onion, chopped

  • 1/3 cup roasted chopped almonds

  • 1 T ghee or avocado oil

  • 3/4 cup ginger liquor

  • 1 T freshly chopped basil

  • fresh ground pepper to taste

Here’s How:

  1. In a food processor, chop the dried fruit, then place in a saucepan with liquor and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

  2. Saute chopped onion in ghee until lightly caramelized.

  3. Place the above ingredients in the food processor and slightly pulse.

  4. Add chopped basil, chopped nuts and fresh ground pepper to taste.
