Shea Butter Body Cream
Ingredients:
1/2 cup shea butter
2 T coconut oil
1 T avocado oil
15 drops lavender essential oil
7 drops wild sweet orange or grapefruit essential oil
10 drops frankincense
Lavender oil is known for calming the mind to reduce stress, anxiety, and improve sleep, but also offers antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial benefits for skin, hair, and pain relief, helping with headaches, burns, and promoting overall wellness.
Wild sweet orange is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Its natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties can help manage acne and soothe irritated skin when applied topically.
Frankincense is great for skin because it's a natural anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and astringent that fights acne, reduces signs of aging (like wrinkles and scars), soothes irritation (like eczema/rosacea), promotes cell regeneration, balances oil, and brightens skin tone by reducing dark spots and hyperpigmentation, all while supporting skin's barrier and elasticity.
Here’s How:
Place shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler and melt just until it is all melted, watching it carefully and taking it off the heat as soon as it is melted (it will get grainy if cooked too long)
Add avocado oil and place melted mixture in fridge to chill until it turns opaque and begins to thicken to the consistency of yoghurt or loosely softened butter. (approximately 30 minutes)
Whip mixture on medium high with an electric mixer until it thickens for about 5 minutes.
Add essential oils and mix to combine for just about 30 seconds.
Spoon into small clean jars with lids, label them and use for yourself or give s holiday gifts.
